Haiku (music)
Everytime you play
It makes my mood swing away
My heart leaps with joy
And my feet dance along with sway
Tercet
Why does my heart beat so fast
Everytime I see you in class
Especially when you throw me a glance
Cinquain
The Dog
Is man’s best friend
Offers love and comfort
Loyal and source of Happiness
My Dog
Quatrains
DREAM
I aim to be great someday
So its time to make a way
Little steps mean a lot
Especially when you want to reach the top
SCHOOL
School is a happy place
Where ambitions will be shaped and raise
Enjoy every moment while you wait
For your dreams to fulfill will be chased.
PURSUIT TO HAPPINESS
Everyone gets a little down in the dumps sometimes. Everyone has a story to tell, things happen around us, things happen to us but the only thing that truly matters is what happens within us. Every student has his own journey to take which feels like a constant uphill battle. During a plateau or at the beginning of every semester, it’s easy to be discouraged. I can say that I belong to those students who have not yet found their passion and some that just don’t seem to want to be here at all. With this kind of attitude, I know, I am in for a lot of lessons in the subject of life. Life is like a journey down the street. It mostly goes straight but you do come across bumps on the road. No path is definitely right or wrong. Right or wrong is dependent on the individuals, their needs, personalities and circumstances. It was a typical Saturday morning when my mother decided to take a trip to Wawa Dam in Montalban Rizal just to relax and commune with nature away from the bustle and hustle of city life. We took the Payatas Road down to Rodriguez, Rizal. As we are pass through, I noticed some dump trucks parked on the side streets where people, children and old alike with big “sako” bags roaming around the area anticipating for something to arrive. As a new dump truck arrives, you can see the happiness in their eyes. I wonder how they can stand the stinky smell of rotten garbage, the flies all around and the risk of tripping in a mud of rubbish! I cannot empathize, how can they live like this, why do they let the children partake in this kind of chase. As we go along the Rodriguez Road, traffic began to arise. As we are slowly moving, I see different faces of women with children, old men, chauvinist drivers, street vendors, etc. But what struck me most was the sight of four small children (I’d like to believe that they are siblings) wrestling over a big cup of “taho”; everyone tried to have a small sip over the others. What their “kuya” did was he asked them to sit beside each other while he alternately share the cup to everyone except for himself. I was stunned by his gesture because at an early age, he knows how to be responsible, selfless and full of love. At last, we finally arrived at our destination. It was a long walk leading to the dam, big rocks, are everywhere, steep/slippery road ahead. Sometimes we stumble but we have to move on. As we reached our destination, It was such an amazing view.. it was worth all the exertion. I noticed some children as they went up and down the street of a rocky mountain to gather some fresh fruits and vegetables. Their laughter roars all over as they hurriedly chasing down the rocky road. I wonder where they get the energy and the zest while their fragile bodies are forced to carry heavy loads. As we drove towards home, I suddenly realized how lucky I am compared to the other people. Often, when we face obstacles in our day life, our hurdles seem very small in comparison to what many others have to face. But now I realized that dreams that seems to be impossible can be achieved with determination and persistence no matter what the odds are. As we, again, passes by the Payatas Road, I’d like to think that the children whom I saw earlier are the same children who now dressed up in PE uniform ready to go to the nearby public school. There were no traces of tattered clothes nor unhappy faces. They walk in group, laughing, teasing each other. I noticed their ragged shoes, one size bigger than their feet, some are in slippers, some are just trying to fit their discolored rubber shoes. But once thing is for sure, they value education regardless of status in life. They know what they want and they take every obstacle as opportunity. So every time I don’t feel like going to class, I just think of these children who really taught me the importance of taking full advantage of the basic things in life and from that moment on, I saw each class and assignments differently. Whenever I started to feel tired, exhausted, stressed and overwhelmed, I just think of the children I saw in the street who would rally all of their energy just to go to class or climbing the mountain just to have some food on the table and it revitalized me. The best things in life are not those rare moments that are exceptional, but those everyday moments, the routine that we create, the regular ways that we occupy our time and build our life. If we can find inspiration in the everyday, we will be present and engaged in ways that will invariably lead to success and happiness.
College Uneducation
Book Worship
Nowadays students tend to rely solely on books as source of knowledge. Everything they read, they believe. In our education system, our curriculum is derived from books as if they are the most complete source of information. Yes, we must read and learn, but we too must learn from our own perspective of what we know is right and just. It is not considered to be a second-rate if we become street smart sometimes. Knowledge cannot be obtained from reading books alone from different noble authors with perception based on their own point of view. Students should develop their own style of reasoning too. Education based on data, experimentation makes them think one way. They capacity to think brings the system to standstill because it prevents the students to function effectively based on their own point of view.
College students must learn to develop their own systematic thinking that often leads to unerring judgment and solid common sense.
Professional Philistimism
Students gets education because they want to get a degree that is acceptable in the society, where they can be somebody to look up to instead of what they really want to be. They are after the title they can get but no joy or satisfaction inside their heart. Education for them is challenge to their ability; to finish the hardest course and passed the hardest subjects but not to learn new things and enjoy what they are doing.
Misguided Zeal
Education is motivated by specialization in view of professional success. This become less clear or distinct the broader perspective of life. Instead, educators should teach the practical values that students can apply in the real life situations. This will help them have a critical thinking that will serve as a guide towards decision making. Educators play an important role to the students in imparting knowledge which can make a big difference in their lives and the society they live in. They have a big part in making students educated or uneducated.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.
Why do this?
The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.
To help you get started, here are a few questions:
You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.
Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.
When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
